Great for their trails and walking your dog, although it can get really muddy and icey throughout the year so make sure you have good boots and suitable clothing. There isn't much for sign markers along the trails but you can take a photo of the map at the entrance to help along the way in case you get lost. They also have cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. Overall, one of the best spots for outdoor activities in St John's.
Location is everything and Pippy has that. Ten minutes from downtown, twenty from Citadel Hill, thirty minutes from Cape Spear. The campground is not well maintained however. Huge pot holes around the back area, grass needed cutting and the public washrooms appear tired and unkempt.WiFi available in open field at the back only and people from outside the park were coming in and using it for free. Security appeared to be nil. Staff is, however, friendly and accommodating.
