I gave this a low rating because to the unbelievable smell of dog feces, and urine all over the walking trails.Practically everywhere you would go, there was feces on the ground, that you had to keep watch for so you wouldn't step into it.Shame on the pet owners that didn't pick up after their dogs.What a disgrace for such a scenic park and walking trail area.
Beautiful! Very clean. Tranquil. Lots of families out walking with their babies and kids. Too many pigeons, but they were harmless.
Huge green space park with many great spots for a family picnic. There's also a large fountain filled with ducks and a swan that enjoy being fed the bags of food you can buy for $1 nearby. There's also a splash pad for the kids on those warm days, and many fields at the park and nearby for sports. There's also a swimming pool inside this park, but I believe it required an admission fee, and beside that is a small canteen for fries and soft drinks. Overall a great place to spend a nice, sunny day with the family.
The daffodils, magnolia and various flowers are blooming this spring in well tended garden plots. Plenty of long walks. You can choose flatter paved roads or plenty of paths in woodsy areas. Many whimsical sights to see such as the huge brass Peter Pan. The ducks are just..well, ducky. There are a couple of duck ponds and a large playground with brilliant padded outdoor flooring to soften any fall. Something for all age groups.
The 2nd best keep secret in St. Johns, yielding only to Pippy Park. The Waterford River, in Bowring Park is an extraordinary joy to experience. Fly fishing, hiking, natural valleys and lush greens.Now if we can only sustain it, and protect it from ourselves as it appears to be declining in recent years... Pollution, garbage, abuse, failing trout species. It will be a travesty if it continues.
