some of the labor and delivery nurses were awesome and comforting(as they should be) and some of them also treated me like I was a waste of space and time because I went in thinking I was in labor at 19 weeks and baby isn't viable until 23 weeks so therefore they wouldn't even monitor me (I'm also at risk for uterine rupture during labor so I NEED to be monitor if i suspect im in labor). luckily i went back at 21/22 weeks due to very bad kidney stones and some nurses treated me a alot better.. don't be a nurse that works with pregnant moms to be if your gonna look at them and be rude just because they're babies aren't viable at the time. all babies matter in my opinion whether they can be saved or not!

I have no respect for this hospital. The doctors, nurses, and security guards could all take a lesson in how to treat someone who has social anxiety and/or another mental health problem.I have had a couple of bad experiences because of my own mental health issues (anxiety-related) and the security guards were of no help at all; if anything, they made the issues worse. They did not come into the room when I was seeing the doctor (one was for a non-mental-health-related issue) but when I left they followed me out the hospital and I was going to get the bus but I noticed they were still following me even though I did not do anything bad nor did I say anything that implied harm to me or anyone else or act in a suspicious manner at all! I ended up walking home because of this (my house is within walking distance to the hospital). They followed me until I reached the end of the hospital's parking lot.The next time I went to the hospital, it was due to a mental-health-related issue. I thought that this hospital would be better than the Waterford Hospital (given that many people, including myself, have been denied help by the Waterford Hospital in the past - reviews on other websites summarize what happened to me: Told that nothing can be done and to see my family doctor even though I wasn't asking for drugs). I was wrong. I was put in a hall next to the Triage Nurse's room but away from the regular waiting room. While I was in the hall, one of the security guards that had followed me outside on my previous visit came in the hall and looked at me. She then went into a corner and another security guard came. The other security guard asked her if she was supposed to be watching me and she said no; she said that she was going to stay there in case I caused any trouble. I felt really upset and angry then but I did not say anything to her or the other security guard, since they could claim that I misheard her, even though I know I never (she was close enough for me to hear her and I have excellent hearing due to the fact that I have no sense of smell). When I was called in to see the psychiatrist on-call, I did not mention what the security guard said but I did mention why I was there: I was feeling suicidal and felt that I should be admitted. The psychiatrist said that she didn't believe me because if I was truly suicidal, I would have tried to kill myself instead of coming here. I responded by saying that I thought help and care would be given if someone said this and I am not just looking for attention and I know what is leading me to feel this way: the amount of anxiety I have was becoming unbearable. The psychiatrist dismissed me and told me to go see my family doctor. After I left the room, the security guard that said I might cause trouble was in the waiting room. She saw me and followed me outside (this time it was only her) and only followed me to the entrance/exit of the outside of the hospital's Emergency Room. I walked as far as the Ronald McDonald house then decided to call and put in a complaint. I did this and since then, I have not heard back, and it has been over a month since I put in that complaint. I doubt I will ever use the Emergency Room at this hospital again and I will only go to the hospital for appointments I must attend; otherwise I will be going to St. Clare's Mercy Hospital or even give The Waterford Hospital (if it is ever a mental health issue again) another chance: I know for a fact that the security guards at those hospitals will not treat me the way I was treated by the security guard (or security guards in the first incident) treated me. I even spoke to a security guard from the same company at the Waterford Hospital one day (I was not in there for any reason; I asked if I could speak to him) and told him my story - he said that the way I was treated was just wrong and those security guards, especially the woman, should be spoken to and the woman should be fired because of her actions - she made me leave feeling worse than I felt when I originally went in there.

If you do not have any serious illness, dont come here. Finding a clinic is better than staying in emergency waiting room for 8 more hours.

This place is run down to the dirt. Honestly it's so dirty and torn and worn that it looks like it should be closing soon. Emergency visits take anywhere from 4-8 hours so if it's a true emergency I recommend paying for an ambulance so that you get in quickly. I've been in emergency screaming in agony and had a doctor sit down at a computer and check his email rather than come assist me. I've been turned away and referred elsewhere by a specialist without being satisfied with my appointment. In effect, this hospital is a reflection of our healthcare system: if you're simply sick but not dying, youre better off fending for yourself until you are dying. Then come back and see them....

Extremely caring, respectful and professional staff members. Doctors , nurses, and extended team were all awesome. Made our long stay much easier...
